CAMPERDOWN TO TIMBOON RAIL TRAILThe Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail runs from Camperdown, through Naroghid, Cobden, Glenfyne and Curdies to Timboon. The trail also now joins with the 12 Apostles Bicycle Trail which goes from Timboon through to the coast at Port Campbell.
The Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail takes you over the historic Timboon Trestle bridge, past relics of old railway trestle bridges, through bush and dairy farmland with rolling hills. A peaceful ride, you're likely to see dairy cows, hear the sounds of birds and you may see some wildlife. RAIL TRAIL CONDITIONSThe rail trail is a mix of gravel and compacted earth. Some sections of the trail between Timboon and Merrett's Road in Glenfyne will require you to dismount and walk along some sections and small timber bridges. Please ride carefully and dismount on uneven surfaces or where instructed to do so.
The trail is a family friendly recreational trail which has varying difficulties depending on which section of the trail you choose to ride. there Please refer to the Rail Trails Victoria Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail page for more details relating to the difficulty of the trail. Please be aware that there may be large branches and fallen trees over the trail on some occasions. The Rail Trail committee do their best to remove fallen trees and debris from the trail as quickly as possible. You may wish to join the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail Official Facebook Group to see trail conditions, updates or ask any questions relating to trail access. In wet weather the trail between Glenfyne to Cobden is compacted earth so can become slippery under foot or muddy. Hiking boots are highly recommended if walking this section of the trail after heavy rain. The Camperdown to Naroghid section of the trail requires riders to ride along roads. If you are not comfortable riding on the road we recommend starting your bike ride somewhere between Naroghid and Timboon. The remainder of the trail from Naroghid to Timboon is off road. For more information about the Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail please download the Camperdown to Timboon Rail Trail map and visit the Rail Trails Victoria page which has an extensive breakdown of the trail and expected conditions. |

"I had so much fun riding with Ride with Us! We went as a group of 4 with two dogs and the owners were super lovely helping adjust the bikes and cater to my anxious pup. We rode about 3 hours and loved it. Highly recommend!”
